| Abstract: | The Faraday rotation in the isotropic phase of MBBA and three cyanobiphenyl nematogens has been measured.A small variation of the Verdet constant with temperature that was associated with the volume expansion of the sample was observed.The feasibility of observing field-dependent effects on the Verdet constant in liquid crystal as a result of induced orientational ordering in very high magnetic field is discussed. |
