新乡市城、郊2564名少年儿童反应时的测定

THE MEUSURE OF 2564 CHILDREN'S RESPONSE TO SOUND IN XINIANG ADN IN ITS SUBURBS

From April 16th to May 10th,1984,2564 pupils from primary schoolsin xinxiang and in its suburbs were carefully meusured for their responsetime to sound by CT-3A type time Meusuring Instrument,of those chil-dren there were 1330 boys and 1234 girls,they were trained to be cooper-ative before being measured.All the children were meusured in turn forthree times,and the shortest time was recorded with an accuracy ofmillisecond.The data werearranged according to their residances in the(city or in the suburbs),sexes and ages.The results of the work are asfollows:Urban children aged from 6 to 13 response to sound more quicklythan those from the suburbs,and children from environs response morequickly than those from outer suburbs;As to the children of the sameage,urban children response more quickly than suburban ones;theresponse time decreases when the children's age increases,i.e.the chi-ldren's response time is in inverse relation to their age.All thestatements above agree with the development of the children's intelligen-ce,which is closely related to the society,family educaton,livingenvironment etc.So the study of children's response time to sound couldafford some references to the research work of children's reaction abilit-ies and their levels of intelligence.
