Abstract:To fulfill the project of "The Stock Utilization Survey of Mackerel and Scad in Zhejiang Fishing Area" during 1991 1993, the paper synthesized the hydrologic characteristics, the apecies composition and the quantitative distribution of zooplankton in fishing areas in summer and autumn,the distribution and biological characteristics of different mackerel and scad colonies, the yearly variation of the emergence size of juvenile fishes and the current fishing state of mackerel and scad caught by purse seine and trawi, discussed the effects on fishing area forming of environment, elucidated the relationship among the central fishing area forming of mackerel and scad,hydrologic environment and zooplankton's biomass, analysised the stock situation and exploiting potentiality of mackerel and scad, and made some proposals for expioitation andutilization .
