ORIGIN AND USES OF DOMINANT GENE FOR MALE STERILITY IN CULTURAL PLANTS

In cultural plants,dominant genetic sterility can be classified into two groups,i.e.male sterility controlled by singlegene and other by gene interaction.The dominant genes for male sterility from spontaneus and induced mutation belongto the former,and others segregated from the offspring to the latter.Dominant genetic sterility controlled by geneinteraction exists dominant epistatic gene for restoring fertility from the parent and its derivates which carry dominantgene for male sterility,in present paper,potential value of dominant genes for male sterility in crop breeding is geneticallyanalyzed.
