| Abstract: | The article gives an outline of the essential characters andfunctions of the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) and analyzes thedevelopment background of ITS at home and abroad, especially the main projectsof American ITS and overseas latest advanced on-vehicle driver aided units.The paper also makes an analysis of the traffic condition, urgency,necessaryand opportunity for China to develop her own ITS. A public transportationsystem is exemplified as a specific application of ITS in china.; |
