| Abstract: | Setting about two equivalent expressions of generalized Laguerre polynomials, a new general formula of matrix element, rk, in the theory for potential model of multiple-electron atom is derived by means of successive partial integration. This general formula is simpler and more practical than that given in current references. The way shown in this paper can also be applied to other quantum systems to carry out similar results. |
