| Abstract: | Debate between Zhou (Zhou Qingchen) and Chun (Chun Yuyue) was the prelude of burning books and burying Confucian scholars alive. This paper fully reveals the original causes of the debate between Zhou and Chun with rich and varied historical data and facts, and makes further exploration on the reasons why the First Emperor of Qin had implemented the policy of burning books and burying Confucian scholars alive. Finally, the paper wants to remedy the defects of otherscholars and give a more fully and reasonable views about this historical fact. |
