汉字是象形表意文字说论究

现有的一些教材和专著，把汉字称为象形表意文字。揆诸文字发展史及文字的现实，这一观点值得质疑。东汉许慎《说文解字》所收的9353个汉字中，形声字所占的比例已迭85％以上。从这个时期起，汉字即走上了音意文字阶段，而决非仅仅是象形表意的初级文字阶段。这是关系到汉字的性质问题。

A New Probe into on the Theory of "Chinese Characters-A Pictography"

Chinese characters have been said to be a pictography in some present teaching books and monographs, We question this idea after researching the facts and developing history of many characters. There were more than 85% pictophonetic words in 9353 Chinese characters collected in Xu Shen' s Dictionary of Shuo Wen Jie Zi in Eastern Han Dynasty. From that period, Chines characters were not only in its elementary pictographic stage but has been put on a way of phonography.
