| Abstract: | The pragmatic failure of Chinese learners of English in some typical speech acts, including addressing, greeting, farewell and thanking, are analyzed. It also explores the differences in language and culture between English and Chinese in order to enhance people＇ s cultural awareness and make successful cross-cultural communication. |
