| Abstract: | This paper gives a detailed account of the five types of textual cohesive ties theorized by Halliday & Hasan and makes a detailed analysis of the usage, uses and classifications of cohesion, which is an important means in making up a cohesive text. It also illustrates the effectiveness of the practical application of cohesion in an English text. |
