Piecewise Shape-Preserving Quadratic Splines for Computer Aided Curves Design

In this paper, a new quadratic spline interpolation algorithm for piecewise shape preserving is given. By adding suitable interpolation points, a smoothly interpolation curve with piecewise convexity preserving and monotonicity preserving can be drawn. Some computer numerical tests are given. In all cases, we can obtain visually pleasing curves used with discrete interpolation data. The algorithm is uncomplicated and can be easily performed as well. It provides the computer aided curves design with a new effective method.
