In modern Chinese literature,two images which seem to be superficially opposite but actually complementary brought reverberation to China in the May the Fourth Movement of 1919. In fact these two images are supplement to each other in its entirety from the holistic and coherent perspective of literature. Moreover,the two sides of human nature reflected through these images lead to a deeper understanding of human being.
