Abstract:Imposing a constraint set on the interfaces of substructures, the hybridsynthesis technique introduced in this paper removes the possible free-freesubstructures that may result from partitioning a system into componentsand gets rid of super-interface degrees of freedom shared by more than two subst-ructures. The motion of each constrained substructure is represented by the free-interface normal modes that is kept and by the residual inertia relief attachment mo-des. The constraint modes defined on the above constraint set are then used toeliminate these constraints imposed originally. Consequently it is easy to computethe residual inertia relief attachment modes and assemble a system. The above substructure mode synthesis technique is not as straightforwad as thefixed-interface method and the free-interface method. However, since it overcomestheir drawbacks, the method produces very good results and has a higher computingefficiency.
