Similarity of 2D engineering graphics for information hiding

Based on the theory of rough set, the method for tne evaluation of the similarity of the 2D engineering graphics in information hiding is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the entity attributes of 2D engineering graphics are classified into three categories： numerical type, enumerative type, and the dependent type. Then the partial similarity of each type is obtained, respectively. The weight of each type is calculated by using the theory of rough set. Finally, the whole similarity between the 2D engineering graphics is formulated. Analysis and discussion show that it is feasible to calculate the similarity of the 2D engineering graphic in information hiding, which has great potontial to be used to evaluate the performance of the watermarking algorithms for 2D engineering graphics.
