KINETINS AND PLANT RESPIRATORY METABOLISMS

This paper expounded on different effects of kinetins on plant respiratory metabolism, and layed a stress on the function of kinetins stimulating hexose monophosphate pathway(HMP). The author suggested that kinetins increase the running of HMP by raising the activith of glucose-6-phosphat dehydrogenase(G6PD) .which is a very key regulatory enzyme in HMP. In the paper, the author also discussed the molecular basis for kinetins action,and meanwhile pointed out some problems to be solved and the study direstion to be concentrated in this field. The writer showed that plants are an open system in which there are many kinds of metabolic reactions and regulatory mechanisms to ensure growth, differentiation, development and evolution of 1 pants, and the process that kinetins influence plant respiratory metabolisms is complicated. The writer believe that with the advancing of plant molecular biolgy.the detailed molecular mechanism of kinetines influencing HMP will be put forth.
