论楹联在传统人文中的地位和作用

On the Status and Roles of Couplets in Traditional Humanism

Couplets,a kind of art appealing to all,often lead to the disregard of professional scholars.Moreover,the significance and the value of couplets are not sufficiently recognized and affirmed.It is argued that the lack of accurate evaluation on their styles is a key factor resulting in the disregard of researchers.It is pointed out that couplets are neither the derivatives of poetic couplets nor the entertainments at people＇s leisure,but an important artistic form in our traditional poetic education,being special poems bearing the functions of symbol and sign.
