Abstract:The recovery function (in 3 s) of AEP late components (N_1-P_2) was studiedin normal and mentally retarded children. The results indicated that the recoveryfunction of AEP late components varied with different intelligence levels. In thementally retarded the recovery function of AEP late components was distinctlypoor (less than 70%, and in some only 40%). In the normal children, the low I.Q. group (I.Q.<80) showed low recovery function (70%~80%), and the mediumI.Q. group (I.Q.=100) higher recovery function (attaining 100%). Unexpectedly,the children of the highest intelligence level (I.Q.>120) showed lower recoveryfunction of AFP late components.
