| Abstract: | This paper presents a new representation of polarized light and polarizing de- vices using quaternion.By means of the representation the equivalence theorem for the optical systems containing any number of retarders and rotators has been proved once again and a new calculus for the Mueller matrixes of the abovementioned systems has been introduced. |
