试论西部经济在隋唐时期的地位与作用

秦汉时期，西部地区拥有良好的自然环境，关中土壤膏腴，巴蜀沃野千里，陇右水草丰茂，构成了中国的基本经济区，为中国的形成与维系提供了物质基础。东汉末期以后，受长期战乱的影响，关中与陇右经济受到摧残，西部经济丧失了作为国家基本经济区的地位。但隋唐时期，西部经济仍然是我国统一多民族国家稳定与维持的重要支柱，是一个范围更大、面积更广的基本经济区的重要组成部分。

The Position and Function of Western Region Economy during Tang and Sui Period

During Qing and Han period, the western region had a good natural surroundings: Guanzhong with the fertile land, Bashu with spacious fertile fields, longyou with plenty of water and lush grass, which formed Chinese basic economic region and supplied material foundation for China's formation and maintenance. After the late Donghan, the economy of Guanzhong and Longyou were affected by the long war. Then the western region economy lost the place as country's basic economic region. But during the period of Tang and Sui, the western region economy was still an important pillar to stabilize and maintain our unitary multi- national state, and it was also the important part of more wider basic economic region.
