Balanced growth and unbalanced growth are two different viewpoints in economi-cal development theory.This article thinks that both of the viewpoints share a common devia-tion:they overemphasize the economic development on planning,neglecting the foundamentalfunction that the market plays in the process of economical development,neglecting the existingorganic connections between the different branches and districts in balanced growth and unbal-anced growth.Taking the economical development in China as one example, the article com-pares the different menifestations of the districts and branches in balanced growth and unbal-anced growth at different times,demonstrates the important role that the market mechanismplays in economical development.
