The Meaning of the Words is Restricted by the Contexts in Translating English into Chinese

This paper deals with the importance of the restriction of context on the meaning of the words with examples, pointing out that this kind of restriction includes not only the immediate context but also the non-immediate context such as cultural background, national features , the author's opinions and so on. Therefore, in the process of translating, the translator should have a good understanding of the exact meaning expressed in the words in the original according to the information provided by the contexts, in order to make the translation reproduce the style of the original fully and correctly.
