| Abstract: | Based on the intrinsic similarity of stress strain relationship for soil, rock and concrete, the authors describe the mechanical behaviors of rock and concrete in term of critical state initially developed for soil. In the framework of critical state mechanics, the separate constitutive relationship and strength theory for soil, rock and concrete may achieve a unity. |
