Abstract:In this paper, the Laplace Transform Finite Element Method for solving the problem of unsteady groundwater flow is discussed, this method removes the time derivatives with a Laplace transform first and solve an associated equation with the finite element method for several values of the transform parameter. A numerical transform inversion is then used to express the results in physical terms. An example is given to show the effect and advantage of the method. 2figs., 3tabs., 3refs.
