| Abstract: | This paper attempts to discuss the main causes for the decline of tea horse trade in Ming Dynasty by analyzing the tea-horse exchange policy.The author points out that the unfairness in the policy of differentiating the numbers of horses based on household numbers of each region that is required to pay tribute to the central government,and the limitation of the golden card policy,and the unfair prices between the tribute horses and the horses given to the government to substitute corvee loborers caused the ... |
