| Abstract: | Based on stress failure criterion,a finite element slope stability analysis method is proposed,in which the safety factor of the slope is defined as the ratio of the integration of shear strength tothat of reduced critical shear strength along the failure slip surface,A mathematical programmingtechnique finding the failure slip-surface under given stress distribution and shear strength hasalso been developed by the authors for the stability analysis.A numerical example of theapplication of the proposed method to a rockfill dam slope is given. |
