探密盐井沟古生物化石遗址

盐井沟古生物化石遗址发现至今已有近百年历史,目前在重庆市、万州区各级政府的支持下,古生物化石得到了有效保护。文章通过对盐井沟古生物化石遗址的历史、成因、时代、特征等研究,揭示几十万年前盐井沟地区动物的生存状态。从地质背景上看,盐井沟地区保存了早更新世晚期至现代较为完整的生物演化序列,有望建立我国南方第四纪生物地层学的标尺。

A Quest of Yanjinggou Ancient Fossil Site

The discovery of Yanjinggou fossil site has been nearly a hundred years so far, and due to the support of both the municipal government and the county governments in Chongqing, the protection of fossils nowadays has been strengthened. This article, by studying the history, causes, age and characteristics of Yanjinggou fossil site, discloses animals＇ survival condition in Yanjinggou hundreds of thousands of years ago. From the perspective of the geological background, the Yanjinggou region has saved a relatively complete sequence of biological evolution from the later period of the Early Pleistocene to modem time, which is expected to be built as the ruler of the Southern quaternary biostratigraphy.
