Developing cross-cultural communicative competence in foreign language teaching

The final goal of foreign language teaching is to realize cross-cultural communication. It is a crucial link to develop cross-cultural communicative competence in foreign language teaching. This pa- per explores the relations between the cross-cultural communication and foreign language teaching, analyzes the differences between Chinese culture and Western culture that hinder students from gai-ning cross-cultural communicative competence, and then proposes some effective methods.
