| Abstract: | Meaning is a central topic in semantics,but it exists in context.Context plays an important role in interpreting word meaning. It will be analyzed as follows:(1) Context determines the referents of deictic words;(2) Context eliminates word ambiguity;(3) Context provides clues for interference of word meaning. |
