摘    要:作为20世纪30年代中国文化保守主义重要派别——学衡派的领军人物,吴宓珍视祖国的传统文化遗产,尤其是传统的道德与人格论。在融合了美国白壁德为代表的新人文主义后,他认为只有在道德的约束下,人的本性才不至于走向欲望的极端,人类才能找到传统文化与现代文化的结合点,物质文明与现代文明才能达到一种和谐状态。概言之,即借助于道德,使人的内在与外在趋于理想中的和谐。

Abstract:As the leader of Xueheng School, an important school of the Chinese Cultural Conservatism in the 1930s, Wu Mi cherished the traditional cultural heritages, particularly traditional morality and personality theory. After integrated with the new humanism represented by Babbitt from the United States, he thought that only under the restriction of morality can human nature not take to the extreme, human beings find the point of integration of traditional culture and modern culture and the material civilization and the modern civilization come to a harmonious state. In a word, supported by virtue, one's internality and externality tend to the ideal harmony.
