索绪尔关于文字的悖论

德.索绪尔(F.Saussure)是现代语言学的奠基人,在对待文字的态度上他存在着一个悖论。一方面,他认为文字对于语言来说是一种危险的存在,文字的专横导致了语言形式的颓废和污染;另一方面,他又认为语言离不开文字,文字与语言必须长期共存。索绪尔的文字悖论既是对以柏拉图为首的西方哲学传统的继承,也是对自己语言观的强调及对当时在学界占统治地位的历史比较语言学的反动。

Saussure's Paradox on Writing

F.de Saussure was the founder of modern linguistics.There was a paradox on his view of writing and language.On the one hand,he thought that writing was a dangerous factor to language.The peremptoriness of writing resulted in decadence and stain of language.On the other hand,he thought that language could not depart from writing.Writing and language must coexist for a long time.Saussure's paradox on writing and language inherited the tradition of western philosophy.At the same time,he emphasized his viewpoint on language and opposed the view of comparative linguistics through discussing the paradox of writing and language.
