| Abstract: | The climate at the southern foot of the Dabie Mountains was hot and humid during the Late Tertiary Period. The secondary xylem of the original plants in local acidic environment was replaced by silica and turned into fossil woods. The climate in the Early Pleistocene became cold and dry. The tropical plants could not multiply thus they were substituted by the coniferous and broad-leaf sparse forests grasslands in this area. |
