英汉习语的文化内涵与翻译

Cultural Connotation of Idioms ＆ Its Interaction with Translation

Owing to different social and cultural background, idioms, both in Chinese and English, contain rich and diverse cultural connotation geographically, religiously, historically, conventionally, ethically and so on. This article, based on a large number of convincing examples and froom the angle of cultural analysis, explores some of the inequality between English and Chinese idioms in order to account for the cultural connotation and its interaction with translation.
