20世纪早期西北开发的兴起及地学工作者的贡献

主要探讨20世纪早期中国对西北地区开发及地学工作者的贡献，总结了历史上对西北地区研究的经验和教训，认为早期开发西北遇到的许多问题，诸如环境，国防，东西部协调发展，民族等问题，也正是我们今天在西北开发中不容忽视的问题。

THE UPSURGE IN DEVELOPING NORTHWEST AREAS AND THE CONTRIBUTION OF GEO-SCIENTISTS IN EARLY 20TH CENTURY

China has a long history on developing and studying of northwest areas,which was attached great importance by the government of past dynasties.The traditional books,however,were written by officials,Buddhist monks and banished scholars.All these books were just for describing the environment.In early 20th century,Chinese pay a great attention on the research in northwest areas where made substantial progress on the research.This paper approaches the upsurge in developing of northwest areas and the contribution of geo scientists in early 20th century.Many problems which was come across in early times,such as environment,national defence,coordinating development between the east and the west,nationalities,etc., should not to be ignored nowadays.We can find out some valuable achievements and problems through the historical research.We can use these experiences for reference.
