Abstract:The new type of heat exchanger is proposed that it is rectangle tube bundle heat exchanger. In order to analysis of the heat exchanger, the characteristics of heat transfer and flow resistance of the parallel converged-diverged plates supported by twisted-leaves are investigated experimentally and compared with those of the smooth plate and with the parallel converged-diverged without short twisted-leaves. With the Reynolds number in the range of 19000 to 44000, the results indicate that the local Nusselt number and friction factor decrease, and the valuation factor of heat transfer increases firstly and then descends when the distance from tail of twisted-leaves increases. The valuation factor of heat transfer gets the highest value when the Reynolds number is 19071 and the distance is 140 mm from the tail of the twisted-leaves, and respectively increases by 15% and 9% , as compared with above-mentioned plates. It is concluded that the compound heat transfer enhancement of the converged-diverged plates supported by twisted-leaves is obvious.
