On the Narration of New Women in Shi Tuo s Novels

In Shi Tuo＇ s novels, new women from the countries and towns frequently fail to make themselves recognized in society, family and even in their deep hearts. From a female perspective, the author shows us what a dilemma the new women often fall into while struggling for freedom and equality. Owing to the lack of rudimentary idea of female freedom and equality in the human-oriented aspect, as Shi Tuo reveals, they suffer a lot in their mind. We cannot but reflect on how much freedom the new women have been given in the modern social culture background. Furthermore, the author extends Lu Xun＇s rational query of What Happens after Nora Leaves Home？ to a cultural introspetion aspect.
