近代宁波钱庄业的发展历程及其经营特色

宁波钱庄业从16世纪中叶17世纪初诞生之时起,主要为商业贸易提供资金来源,首创的过帐制度更使其在宁波近代经济史上扮演不可或缺的角色。文章对宁波钱庄业近四个世纪的发展历程进行了回顾,概括了其经营管理方面的特色和存在的一些弊病,进而指出,宁波钱庄业最终为新式银行所取代,是历史发展的必然。

The History and Managing Characteristics of Ningbo Private Banking Industry in Modern Times

Ningbo private banking industry played important role in providing financial resources to the local business after it was born around the mid-16th century and beginning of 17th century.The initiated banking system to transfer items makes it unique in the economic history of modern times.This paper reviews the history of Ningbo private banking industry of nearly four centuries,with findings of its managing features and disadvantages.It points out that it is inevitable that private banking industry would move from prosperity to decline and finally be taken over by modernized banks.
