| Abstract: | Summary One of the 3 different molecular weight cadmium-binding proteins induced in the earthworm was characterized as a metallothionein; this characterization was based on a high cysteine and cadmium content, low molecular weight, heatstability, and mercaptide bonding.M.Y. and K.T.S. thank Dr K.
