The Application of Narrow Listening to IELTS Listening Classroom from Schema Theory

IELTS listening is characterized by the variety and repetition of scenes.It is a crucial step to utilize listeners’ acquired knowledge or past experiences to facilitate their listening processing.This paper intends to explore the application of ＂narrow listening＂ to IELTS listening classroom from the perspective of ＂schema theory＂,and emphasize its role in helping students accumulate related expressions and background knowledge about a certain topic,thus speeding up the process of comprehension.
