一个“成功模块”的启示

一个“成功模块”的教学实验表明:英语课的教学内容与学生专业相关,精心的教学设计和组织,以及得当的教学方法能很好地吸引学生进入良好的学习状态,收到意想不到的效果。从中得到启示:大学英语教学首先应在教学内容上与学生所学专业密切相关;专门用途英语的师资力量准备、教材建设和有效教学方法与手段的探索是首当其冲需要解决的问题;专业英语建设和发展应是今后大学英语教学深入改革发展的着力点之一。

Enlightenment from a “Successful Module”

To enhance the college English learning of the students of Music-Dance-and-Fine Arts, the authors of this article have been exploring ESP teaching and this article is a report on it. The teaching practice of a “successful module”showed that students were attracted with teaching materials related to their specialty, with careful teaching planning and design and prop-er teaching methods. It also revealed that students might be in a good learning state, which would help them achieve unexpectedly satifactory result. Therefore, English teaching materials should first of all be closely related to the learners’ major. Finally, this article points out that it is urgent to build up the teaching strength of ESP, to compile textbooks and to explore effective ESP teaching means and methods and that the construction of ESP should be one of the focuses of the college English teaching reform.
