R&R Analysis for Measurement System Using Moving Range
Abstract:In order to control and continuous improve a production process, a good measurement system is essential. The assessment of a measurement system is known as a gauge repeatability and reproducibility(R&R) analysis. In this paper, the traditional method, analysis of variance (ANOVA), is reviewed and some drawbacks are pointed out. Then a new approach is introduced to estimate R&R. In the last part, an example is presented to show the efficiency of this approach and to demonstrate its application for front-line operation.
