Gyroptychius (Rhipidistia,Osteolepidae) from the Middle Devonian of Scotland

Summary

The ethmoid endocranial structures of Gyroptychius sp. are described using unique material from the Middle Devonian nodule bed at Dipple, Morrayshire. This rare opportunity for comparison of different osteolepid rhipidistians confirms the general pattern of structure suggested in previous studies.
