| Abstract: | Hester Prynne is a beautiful and brave heroine, who is carefully characterized by Hawthorne in The Scarlet Letter. To find true love, she dares to challenge the secular marriage and holds her own independent personality. She takes treacherous actions boldly for romantic love and human liberation and continuely opposed the puritan society which destroyed the human nature all her life. |
