摘    要:本文通过对拐棍竹和冷箭竹已知秆龄竹茎的外观特征和营养叶在各枝上的年发叶数量和着生方式的调查,分析总结出秆龄与主枝上营养叶数量与叶鞘梯数间呈N=x—a+n 或 N-Y/b-a+n 的直线关系,并能以此确定出营养叶不同着生点的秆龄。这对确定其种群的年龄结构具有重要的意义。

Abstract:Arrow bamboo (Bashania Fangiana) and umbrella bamboo(FargesiaRobusta)are staple food of the giant panda in the Qionglai Mountainsof Sichuan,so investigating the population composition,determiningthe age group formation and knowing the developing trends of bothbamboo species has an important significance for conservation of thegiant panda.In order to investigate the relationship between bamboo stem age and its morphological characteristics,we measured from a stem ofunknown age (N),the number of groups of leaf sheath scars (X) on abranch,the total number of leaf sheath scars (Y) on a branch;andfrom a stem of known age(N)in the same stand,and we measured thesame two wariations(respectively a and b).The follwing relationships hold:N=x-a+n andN=y/b-a+n.Cert-ain morphological measurements can then be used to predict the age ofstems.
