评《水经注校释》

郦道元的《水经注》，蕴涵文献丰富而核以野外考察，博大精深，泽被各个领域，为各学科所援据。问世千多年来，治者至夥，明清更形成郦学；追至晚近，郦学不独于海内方兴未艾，即海外夙亦重视其研究。惟郦注至宋已无足本，且经注混淆，错漏舛讹，不堪卒读。清戴震集古典郦学大成而有殿本《水经注》，使郦注基本恢复旧观，向被尊为最标准的版本。陈桥驿教授《水经注校释》，就殿本“取其精华，去其糟粕”，对勘版本文献之众、辑佚之富、以现代地理学观点方法对郦注所记河流古今变迁与现状之梳理等，都长足胜于殿本，亦远迈郦学群籍。著者毕生治郦智慧结晶，都已集中熔铸于是书之中。

Comments on the Collation and Explanation Of the Waterways Classic

Containing rich literature verified by investigation, and with extensive knowledge and profound scholarship,LI Dao-yuan's Notes on the Book of Waterways has profited a variety of academic fields,and has been cited in many branches of learning. In more than one thousand years since its coming out,innumerable scholars have devoted themselves to the study of the book,and a branch of learning known as Linlogy came into being during the period of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. UP to recent years,the study of Liology has not only prospered in China but has also aroused much attention abroad' By the Song Dynasty,however, no complete edition of the book could be found,and as the text was mixed up with the notes there occurred a great many mistakes and omissions which rendered the book illegible. DAI Zhen,a scholar in the Qing Dynasty,sythesizing all the achievements of classical Liology,put forth the Wuyingdian edition of Notes on the Book of Waterways in which the originat aspect of the book was basically restored' It has been regarded as the best standard edition. Professor Chen'S collation of Notes on the Book of Waterways,taking advantage of the multitude of various editions in literature and by his analyses of the evolution and the present state of the waterways related to Li's notes,is far better than the Wuyingdian edition and tremendous amount of Liological publications. The life - long intellectual crystalization of the author is condensed and merged in this book.
