布里渊光时域分析传感器扰偏性能研究

摘    要:普通单模光纤中存在的偏振效应会对布里渊光时域分析传感器性能产生较大影响。理论分析并实验研究了扰偏器对布里渊光时域分析传感器性能的影响。结果表明,采用扰偏器时光纤末端处的检测信号增益的均方根误差相对于不采用扰偏器时降低约4.26dB,有效地抑制了检测信号的偏振起伏,降低了系统偏振噪声;信号增益提高约1.14dB,降低了信号的偏振相关衰落;布里渊频移的均方根误差降至1.6MHz,提高了布里渊频移的测量准确度。

Research on the polarization performance of Brillouin optical time domain analysis sensor
Abstract:The performance of Brillouin optical time domain analysis (BOTDA) sensor is affected by polarization effect in standard single fiber. The performance improvement of BOTDA system with polarization scrambler is theoretically analyzed and experimentally studied. The results show that the root-mean-square error of detection signal gain at the end of fiber in BOTDA system with polarization scrambler is reduced by 4.26 dB compared with that in BOTDA system without polarization scrambler, which demonstrates that the polarization fluctuation of detection signal is suppressed effectively and the polarization noise of system is reduced; the signal gain is increased by 1.14 dB, which demonstrates that the polarization-induced fading of signal is reduced; the root-mean-square error of measured Brillouin frequency shift decreases to 1.6 MHz, which demonstrates the measurement accuracy of Brillouin frequency shift is improved.
