地图的基本特性与定义简析

地图的定义是目前地图学界讨论的重点专题之一。本文追循地图的演变过程,着重说明两个问题:(1)简要分析古代和近代两个有代表性的地图定义及其历史局限性;(2)概略总结归纳现代地图的发展持点,提出有待探讨的现代地图定义之浅见,以期抛砖引玉,求索确切的现代地图定义。

A Brief Analysis of the Definition of Map

The definition of map, one of the important subjects, has been discussed in the cartographical field. This paper follows map's evolution process and puts stress on two problems. (1) The paper makes a brief analysis of map's two re- presentative definitions in ancient and modern times and its historical limitations; (2) The paper makes a brief summary of the developmental characteristic of modorn map and proposes a superficial view on the definition of modern map in order to attract more attention to probing definition of modern map.
