A Case Study of the Relationship between the Dependency Ratios of Population and Economic Growth in Henan Province

Population structure has a very important impact on the sustained economic growth, different population burden contributes to the local economic development differently. Through the case study of the relationship between the dependency ratios of population and economic growth in Henan province, the paper reaches the conclusion that the increase of juvenile dependency ratios will promote the economic development while the increase of old-age dependency ratios will impede the economic development. Therefore, the implementation of the separate two-child policy in Henan province will stimulate the local economy greatly.
