| 摘 要： | 哈代和德莱塞在各自的作品中成功地塑造了众多女性形象。其中有一类女子,她们善良、纯洁、坚忍、宽容,勇于牺牲,是两位作家心目中的完美女性。哈代的《德伯家的苔丝》中的苔丝和德莱塞的《珍妮姑娘》中的珍妮就是这样完美女性的杰出代表。本文将从她们的生活环境、社会背景、性格特征、命运悲剧及根源入手进行分析比较,透视两位作家的女性观。

| Abstract: | Thomas Hardy and Theodore Dreiser successfully create various female characters in their respective works.In their inner hearts,the perfect female characters are those who are pure,kindhearted,tolerant and brave in self-sacrifice.Tess in Hardy's Tess of the d'Urbervilles and Jennie in Dreiser's Jennie Gerhardt are two outstanding representatives among them.This paper intends to reflect these two masters' female concept by analyzing the social background,living environment,characteristics,tragedy causes of Tess and Jennie. |
