| Abstract: | This paper describes the finite element analysis and optimal design of automobile body structures.A generalized geometric programming sequential quadratic algorithm is presented for minimizing the space combined structure, which is composed of bar-membrane-beam-shell elements,under several load conditions and constrained by its static and dynamic performances and limita- tions of sizes.And the mathematical models,the design variables and the constraint conditions are discussed.The program has been tested in some practical structures,the results show that the algorithm is efficient and reliable.For example,after optimizing,the total weight of a certain automo- bile body structure is 7.6% less than that of its orig-inal design. |
