Abstract:Silver nanoparticles on carbon film were used to investigate the spontaneous aggregation evolution of nanoparticles on two dimensional surface at room temperature. It was shown that, by transimission electron microscope observation over one year, the aggregates of the particles tend to have the smallest surface to reduce their surface free energy and are compact three dimensional cluster. The agglomerating is a successive slow diffusion limited aggregation growth. Another phenomenon, a big aggregate gather some small aggregate, forming a still bigger one, had been observed.
